SURE Facilitation and Synthesis Research Project

On February 28, the Synergy Workshop with focus on the SURE Focus Topic »Risk Management & Risk Reduction« was hosted by the Facilitation and Synthesis Research (F&SR) team.

Three input talks to the topic were presented by experts in the field:

Mark Pelling from the Department Risk & Disaster Reduction at UCL London delivered a talk on shifting the focus from reducing risks to preventing their creation.
Catarina Camarinhas, Country Programme Manager at UN-Habitat Myanmar addressed the polycrisis in Myanmar. She delivered an insightful talk on the complex challenges facing Myanmar, with a particular focus on climate change and the M-CAN platform.
Maria Moleiro Dale, a Risk & Resilience Expert from HafenCity University in Hamburg, presented approaches, developed in the ARTUR Project, towards urban resilience in Ukraine.

Together with the participants, the focus topic »Risk Management and Risk Reduction« was further discussed and specified.

SURE Facilitation and Synthesis Research Project

The first SURE Synergy Workshop aim was twofold: introduction and exploration. First, the workshop aimed to introduce the SURE Facilitation and Synthesis Research Project, the concept of synergy workshops and intended to gather feedback and suggestions. Secondly, the workshop aimed to provide space for project partners to meet, explore each other’s work and exchange about potential synergies.
