The publication examines factors contributing to community resilience in various resettlement projects in Metro Manila, where many informal households live in high-risk flood areas. Using a mixed-method approach with household surveys and focus group discussions, the study finds minimal differences in well-being between in-city and off-city resettlements. Main factors for successful resettlement include reduced hazard exposure, secure tenure, safety from crime, social cohesion, and institutional support. These findings offer insights for improving managed retreat as a climate change adaptation strategy.
