Accessibility Statement
The Sustainable Urban Regions project (“we”) is committed to making its website www.sustainable-urban-regions.org accessible. Our commitment is based on the German Equal Opportunities for Disabled Persons Act (BGG) and the Accessible Information Technology Ordinance (BITV 2.0), which implements EU Directive (EU) 2016/2102 and is based on the harmonized standard EN 301 549 (WCAG 2.1 AA).
1. State of Compliance
Our website meets many of the requirements of BITV 2.0 (based on WCAG 2.1 AA) but is not yet fully accessible.
The last review was carried out through an internal self-assessment on August 1, 2025.
2. Non-Accessible Content
The following content is currently not fully accessible:
- Images, graphics, and other elements without consistent alternative texts
- Partially incomplete keyboard navigation for interactive elements
- Headline hierarchy (headings) that is not always optimally structured
- Videos without subtitles or audio descriptions

This declaration was created on August 1, 2025.
It is based on a self-assessment following the requirements of BITV 2.0 and the WCAG test criteria.

5. Arbitration Procedure

6. Technical Implementation
We use modern web technologies (HTML5, CSS, WAI‑ARIA, JavaScript) and align with the requirements of screen readers (e.g., NVDA, VoiceOver, TalkBack) as well as common browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari).
7. Updates
This declaration will be reviewed and updated at least once a year or whenever significant changes are made to our website – in accordance with § 7 BITV 2.0 and the requirements of the EU Directive.
